From my Art-chive…
🎶Let’s go fly a kite… Up to the highest height🎶.
My oldest was in a student production of Mary Poppins a few years ago, and we ended up consuming a lot of live-action Disney classics from the 1960s. During the height of the pandemic, we did a lot of flying of kites at our local park to pass the time, and my kids’ favorite kites were two butterfly ones I got for them because they worked the best 😊. With spring quickly turning into summer in the northern hemisphere, are you going to be out enjoying the weather? What are your favorite summer pastimes?
Now to the Good News…
Scientists in Mexico develop tortilla for people with no fridge
Who knew that finding a way to add probiotics to a wheat flour tortilla could eliminate the need to refrigerate the Mexican staple. This development from a scientist at a Mexican university is designed to help the most vulnerable in the country who cannot afford refrigerators to preserve their food. They even say there is a way to do the same with the more popular corn tortillas.
The surprising power of penguin poop: how guano-made clouds may help cool the planet
Penguins in the Antarctic are doing more for the planet than anyone would realize all with the power of poop. Their number-twos release ammonia, which not only stays around for hours after they leave, it gets blown up high in the sky where it then seeds cloud formation. Clouds bounce the suns rays back to space and help keep the planet cooler. Who knew these little birds had such an important impact on our ecosystem.
Penguin Random House dropped a ‘book ban’ clothing line; 100% of profits will help libraries
Book Bans are becoming more and more common in this country. Yet books challenge our preconceptions and open up our minds to new worlds and ideas. They make us smarter and thanks to libraries are accessible to all. Penguin Random House is not only challenging the book bans in court but they have also started a clothing line that will give all the profits to libraries.

Proof of concept: we can transfer energy as wirelessly as our Wi-Fi. The next step? Solar panels in space that can power the planet?
